Proteins are the main constituents of the muscle, so they are indispensable for those who want to increase muscle mass (lean body mass) or for those who want to lose weight. Protein sources are divided into animals with the highest biological value (BV) and vegetables. Proteins can not be stored, so they must be contained in food and you have to take them regularly; quantities have to be directly proportional to the training or to the prescribed diet.
