The Newcastle University has coordinated two studies recently, which reconsider the researches done before on biological milk and meat compared to the traditional products and that were published by the British Journal of Nutrition.
The results were very interesting because it was underlined that biological foods have a superior fatty acid and omega 3 content while the content of other more harmful fats is resulted to be lower.
In the research, 196 studies about milk and 67 about meat were revised, pointing out an omega 3 presence equivalent to 50% plus. Furthermore it was noticed that in biological foods there is an higher concentration of soluble vitamins in fats and of conjugated linoleic acids.
This differnce is mainly explained thanks to the differnet nutrition of animals that in biological breeding are only fed with grass while in traditional breeding farms thet are fed with corn seeds.
A negative factor related to biological milk emerges from these studies in which the iodine supply is lower even of 74%.
