Did you know...
It seems that diabetes type 2 could be "reversible" with a strict diet.
This is revealed by a new study which was published in Diabetes Care by professor Roy Taylor, worldwide known for his knowledge about diabetes.
This research involved 30 people voluntary people suffering from diabetes type 2 who followed a 600/700 calorie diet daily and were able to lose 14 kg without gaining them back in the following months.
Even if volunteers still remained overweight, they lost enough weight to eliminate pancreas fat and have a normal insuline production again.
Thanks to this study, Taylor affirms the theory that there is a personal fat "limit". If a person accumulates more fat than the limit he can bear, diabetes type 2 can be activated but if he loses that quantity of weight he can return to normal. This phenomenon can occur even if the diabetes type 2 has been lasting for many years and can be durable provided that you follow a strict diet.
According to this study, the results of another study carried out by the professor are confirmed: it was underlined that diabetes type 2 can be inverted thanks to a very low calorie diet bur he did not give any explanation about how long the positive effects last.
