Did you know...
It is well known that chocolate has beneficial effects on our organism, in particular at cardiovascular level, thanks to the presence of antioxidants belonging to the family of flavonoids in dark chocolate.
The novelty is that not only dark chocolate but also milk chocolate can have positive effects on our cognitive skills.
This is revealed by a study carried out George Crichton of the University of South Australia and published in the magazine Appetite.
The research has considered the chocolate consumption of 968 people between the age of 23 and 98 during a thirty year period that is for a very long period. Cognitive tests had beeen made to measure the performances in different areas (verbal memory, visual memory, working memory) and they revealed that a regular chocolate consumption, at least once a week, improves all cognitive skills.
These results let so assume that chocolate consumption is healthy not only for the presence of flavonoids which are mainly present in dark chocolate.
