The caffeine is used in sport because it is a substance ergogenic able to reduce the sense of fatigue quickly; for this reason it is recommended to use during sport exercises.
Just be careful how you use it and in what amounts. In fact, caffeine also acts as a diuretic and may cause dehydration and consequently a reduction of the physical performance. Consider that a loss of water higher than 3.2% of body weight is enough to worsen athletic performance.
For these reasons it is recommended a limited use, indicated in particular in the second part of the training / race.
