Breakfast has been considered one of the most important meal of the day for a long time now. From today we discover that it can be essential also at work.
According to some data of the research "Italia Creativa" by Siae and MiBact breakfast puts creativity into motion but it has to be "sweet".
In fact a breakfast based on carbohydrates and sugars, according to this research, can be a source of inspiration.
"Neurons, to work properly - underlines Luca Piretta, nutritionist and gastroenterolog at the University La Sapienza in Rome - must have tanks full of energy and in particular of glucose, which is their only fuel in physiological conditions".
After the night rest the glucose stocks are limited, so it is important to restore them with a good breakfast.
"The tank has to be filled in the morning and not in the evening" says Piretta, according to whom "the mediterranean breakfast, based on cereals combined with sugars at rapid absorption is the secret for a better brain function and so, to feed creativity".
The ritual itself that you follow when you wake up and have breakfast helps to put creativity into motion, as witnessed by Danilo Gasparini, professor of History of Nutrition at the University in Padua: "When you sit, sip a cappuccino, nibble at a biscuit, you help to let your night memories flow and you start imagining your new day. And bread, rusks, biscuits and cereals- ends the nutritionist - provide sugars at slow absorption, with a lower glycemic index (in particular if whole wheat products are preferred) that supply energy for the whole morning".
Tea and coffee have a beneficial effect on creativity too: "theine helps to maintain concentration and melatonin increases serotonin levels and stimulates memory".
Chocolate is a stimulating food for creativity too: "chocolate is a wellness ally, stimulates the central nervous system and improves imagination."
