The alpha lipoic acid, or thioctic acid, is synthesized by amino acid methionine in the organism.
It had an antioxidant function and participates as a cofactor in cellular energy supply, activating the mitochondrial enzymes pyruvate and dehydrogenase alpha-ketoglutarate: the first one is involved in the oxidation of pyruvate, otherwise reduced to lactic acid, the second one in the oxidation of alpha-ketoglutarate, an important intermediate of cellular breathing and metabolism of amino acids. It is found in meat (e.g. liver) and in yeast.
α-lipoic acid, stabilisers: E460i (microcrystalline cellulose), E470b (vegetable magnesium stearate), E551 (silicon dioxide).
How to use:
1 - 3 tablets a day with meals.
100 tablets of 200 mg.
